A Poultry Giant Now Makes the Machines

One of Nigeria's largest poultry and animal-feed companies is moving into the business of building the machines that farms depend on. Amo Group has launched a new subsidiary, Amo Agrotech, at an event on August 27, 2026 at its new office in Ibadan, Oyo State, bringing together the group's executives, customers and agricultural-sector partners, according to Feed Business MEA.

What the New Company Will Build

Amo Agrotech's portfolio spans poultry equipment, environmentally controlled housing, cage systems, feed mill equipment, agricultural machinery, and chicken and goat processing systems, the same report noted. The subsidiary is designed to help agricultural businesses modernise their facilities, improve production efficiency and expand capacity across poultry, livestock, feed manufacturing and processing. Speaking at the launch, Amo Agrotech General Manager Ramchandra Kale said reliable equipment and technical expertise were becoming increasingly important for agricultural businesses trying to lift efficiency and productivity.

Backed by an Established Group

The move broadens the reach of a group already active across several links of the food chain. Amo Group operates in poultry production, animal feed, food processing and veterinary pharmaceuticals, and its senior executives at the launch included Anand Burra, Managing Director of Amo Farm Sieberer Hatchery Limited, and Agboola Belgore, Managing Director of Amo Byng Nigeria Limited, according to Feed Business MEA. Representing the Oyo State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, the Director of Animal Husbandry Services, Okunlola, used the occasion to underline the importance of investment in modern agricultural solutions, particularly within Oyo State.

Why Local Equipment Matters

For Nigerian farmers, the cost and availability of equipment sit close to the heart of the food-price story. Machinery and spare parts are heavily import-dependent, which means naira weakness and shipping delays feed directly into what it costs to produce eggs, chicken and processed food. A domestic manufacturer that can supply cage systems, feed mills and processing lines locally could shorten those supply chains and reduce the foreign-exchange bill that farms carry. The subsidiary will focus on helping producers modernise across poultry, livestock, feed manufacturing and agricultural processing, the report said, a segment where efficiency gains can eventually filter through to prices on the shelf.

FoodPrices Nigeria tracks verified retail prices for eggs, poultry and staples across Lagos markets, where the efficiency of the farms behind them shapes what households ultimately pay.
